Prince Charles was born at Buckingham Palace on November 14 1948 and is the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and heir apparent to the throne. The Prince has two sons late wife Princess Diana  they are Prince William, Duke of Cambridge (eldest) and Prince Harry of Wales.

On December 9 1992 the government announced that Prince Charles and his wife Princess Diana had agreed to separate and the marriage was dissolved on August 28, 1996. Tragic as this was, more pain was to hit the family as it was announced on August 31 1997 that Princess Diana of Wales had died in a car crash in Paris, France.

April 9 200 in the Guildhall in Windsor Castle. When The Prince of Wales ascends to the throne the Duchess of Cornwall will be known as Her Royal Highness The Princess Consort.

Today the Prince of Wales carries out a number of daily duties supporting his mother, The Queen along with his wife the Duchess of Cornwall.
