Prince Michael of Kent is a grandson of King George V and Queen Mary and therefore cousin of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. His Royal Highness was born on July 4th 1942 his father and mother being Prince George (fourth son of George V) and Princess Marina.
Princess Michael of Kent was born Baroness Marie-Christine von Reibnitz on January 15 1945 and married Prince Michael of Kent in 1978 (her second husband).
Upon birth the prince had a claim to the throne as one would expect but as the prince married a Roman Catholic the couple have no claim to the throne under the 1701 Act of Settlement but their children do have the claim.
The couple have two children together Lord Frederick Windsor who was born on April 6 1979 and Lady Gabriella Windsor who was born on April 23 1981.
The family currently resides at Kensington Palace with a number of other members of the Royal Family.
