Only hours after the ceremony which awarded the soon-to-be 92 year old Duke of Edinburgh with the Order of New Zealand he has been admitted to a London clinic for an exploratory procedure following some health complications.
It has been reported that these most recent complications are unrelated to those which caused the prince to miss a planned engagement with Her Majesty, The Queen the night before Her Majesty’s coronation anniversary service at Westminster Abbey.
Buckingham Palace released the following statement online in response to these events
His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to the London Clinic for an exploratory operation following abdominal investigations. He is expected to stay in hospital for up to two weeks.
Further updates will be issued when appropriate.
His Royal Highness is been said to have been in good spirits and gave no signs of being unwell at recent events.
Get well soon!
