Over the last few days there has been a lot of media over the actual and mistaken intruders at Buckingham Palace.
Two men were arrested one night – one man for breaking into the interior of the palace and making it into one of the official state rooms and another for assisting in the break in.
However there was also a mistaken intruder more recently. His Royal Highness The Duke of York was questioned about being within the Buckingham Palace gardens by police officers who had not recognised the prince.
He released a statement today accepting their apology:
The police have a difficult job to do, balancing security for the royal family and deterring intruders, and sometimes they get it wrong. I am grateful for their apology and look forward to a safe walk in the garden in the future.
