Earlier today St James’ Palace announced that the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge had accepted patronages of three new charities close to her heart Along with the duchess’ new charities Princess Beatrice also added another patronage and Prince Harry will lend a hand in an event by Walking with the Wounded.
The organisations the duchess will represent are:
- Place2Be – a school-based mental health and support organisation supporting close to 70,000 children in 175 schools all over the United Kingdom.
- SportsAid – a charity committed to helping to fund athletes both disabled and non-disabled early in their careers.
- The Natural History Museum – an award winning museum and research centre located in London.
In related news, Princess Beatrice of York also became patron of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre. The young princess herself was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of seven and helped by the centre.
Prince Harry of Wales will also take part in a charitable event today as he announces the teams for the Support the Walk South Pole Challenge for Walking with the Wounded, a charity which gives support to wounded service personnel.
